Preaching the Same Vital Message for Over 45 Years
Berean Baptist Church was formed as a church plant in the mid-1970s by Rev. Harold Nieman. Rev. Nieman was with Hiawatha Baptist Mission which has now become Continental Baptist Mission.
--- Pastor Nieman pastored Berean Baptist for about six years before moving to another area of Iowa to plant another church. --- Pastor Robert Palser took Pastor Nieman's place and served until 1992. --- From 1992 to 1993, Lloyd Miller, a retired pastor, served as an interim. --- In the fall of 1992, Rev. Gary Freel was called as Pastor and served faithfully until 2008. --- Rev. DeFord served as interim at Berean for seven months until Pastor Ralph Harmon was called to be the pastor. The Harmons moved to Boone, Iowa and began their ministry on August 2, 2009, serving faithfully in this role for over 12 years. Pastor Harmon retired in August 2021. --- In October 2021, Berean Baptist Church called Roger Smith to be the new pastor. Mr. Smith has been a member of Berean since moving to Iowa in January of 2019. His faithfulness in service and willingness to minister was noticed by the church people and they eagerly requested of him that he would consider becoming the pastor. Pastor Smith began this ministry on October 3, 2021. More about our pastor. |
