Berean Baptist Church was formed as a church plant in the mid-1970’s by Rev. Harold Nieman. He was with the Hiawatha Baptist Mission which has now become the Continental Baptist Mission. Pastor Nieman pastored Berean Baptist for about six years before moving to another area of Iowa to plant another church. He was followed by Pastor Robert Palser who served until 1992. From 1992 until 1993 a retired Pastor, Lloyd Miller, served as an interim. In the fall of 1992 Rev. Gary Freel was called as Pastor and served faithfully until December, 2008. The church has called Rev. Ralph Harmon, along with his wife Karla, to be the Pastor at Berean Baptist Church. Rev. Harmon has had extensive ministry experience including Church Planting, Interim Pastorate, Youth Pastor and most recently Missionary to the Netherlands through Baptist World Missions. The Harmons moved to Boone, Iowa and began their ministry on August 2, 2009.
